These 2 Keys Will Unlock Your PERFECT Life (here’s how to get them)

These 2 Keys Will Unlock Your Perfect Life

Have you ever felt like there’s more to life than where you’re at, a place of ultimate happiness and fulfillment just beyond your grasp, what you believe could be your perfect life?

What if there was a blueprint, a roadmap, or a set of keys that could get you there?

If you’re like me, or any human on the planet for that matter – at some point in time you’ve found yourself tirelessly searching for the ‘secret sauce’ to ultimate freedom and “the perfect life.”

Let me let you in on a secret: it might be simpler than you think.

The truth is, in today’s day and age, there are only two keys you need to focus on in order to have anything and everything you could ever possibly desire.

But before we dive into what those two keys are, you first need to understand a very important concept:

The 5 Stages of Awareness.

You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know

Stages of Awareness for Your Perfect Life

The Five Stages of Awareness is a concept that originated from Eugene Schwartz’s classic book on copywriting, “Breakthrough Advertising,” published in 1966.

Schwartz’s idea was designed primarily for marketing and advertising professionals to help them understand the journey of their audience and where they might fit within the sales process.

Here’s a quick breakdown on the 5 stages of awareness as they pertain to business and marketing:

  • Stage 1 – Unaware: At this stage, the potential customer doesn’t even know they have a problem. Digital marketers might use broad educational content, like blog posts or videos, to inform audiences about potential issues or needs they might have. You can also think of it in terms of TV commercials for the myriad of medications advertised on a day-to-day basis.
  • Stage 2 – Problem-Aware: Here, the potential customer knows they have a problem, but they’re not sure about the available solutions. Marketers might produce content addressing the problem, emphasizing its importance, and suggesting that solutions (like their product) exist.
  • Stage 3 – Solution-Aware: The potential customer knows solutions exist but hasn’t chosen one yet. This is where you can introduce your product or service as a potential solution with comparison content, benefits-driven advertisements, and more.
  • Stage 4 – Product-Aware: Potential customers know about your product, but they might be considering competitors or need more information to make a choice. Testimonials, detailed product specs, and reviews can be valuable content here.
  • Stage 5 – Most Aware: These are the customers ready to buy or take action. They just need a final push. Special offers, limited-time discounts, or direct sales pitches can be effective at this stage.

In the world of business and marketing, understanding where your audience fits within the stages is crucial.

By tailoring content and marketing strategies to each specific stage, businesses can effectively guide potential customers through the buying process, thus making more sales and bigger profits.

However, while The Five Stages of Awareness may be rooted in marketing, it can be adapted and used on the journey of unlocking your perfect life as well.

Let’s delve into how these stages parallel an individual’s self-awareness and growth trajectory.

  • Stage 1 – Unaware: Here, individuals might not recognize any need for change or improvement in their lives. They might feel content, or perhaps they’re simply ignorant of deeper issues or potential areas of growth. It’s the stage of blissful ignorance, where personal development isn’t even a blip on their radar.
  • Stage 2 – Problem-Aware: At this juncture, someone starts to perceive certain challenges, discomforts, or unfulfilled desires in their life. They might realize they’re stuck in a rut, lacking certain skills, or feeling unfulfilled. They know there’s a gap, but they’re uncertain about how to bridge it.
  • Stage 3 – Solution-Aware: This is the stage of exploration. Individuals understand there are ways to address their problems. They might read self-help books, attend workshops, or seek out mentors. They’re actively searching for solutions but might be overwhelmed with options or unsure of the best path for them.
  • Stage 4 – Product-Aware: After exploring, they’ve found specific tools, methods, or philosophies that resonate with them. This could be a particular mindfulness practice, a self-help guru they admire, or a specific personal development course. They’re gearing up to commit to a specific path but might still be weighing a few final options or looking for validation.
  • Stage 5 – Most Aware: At this stage, the individual has fully embraced a specific method or approach. They’re actively engaged in practices, routines, or programs that facilitate growth. Their journey of self-improvement is in full swing, and they’re likely seeing and feeling the benefits of their efforts.

Applying the concept to unlocking your perfect life means recognizing where you are on your personal development journey and adopting appropriate strategies or resources for that stage.

Becoming More Self Aware Helps Unlock Your Perfect Life

By doing so, you can progress more efficiently, ensuring that your efforts align with your current level of self-awareness and readiness to change.

It also allows you to be compassionate with yourself, understanding that everyone moves through these stages at their own pace.

So why do I mention the five stages?

Quite simply, to help you identify where you are on your own journey, and to help you recognize that there may be things you are simply unaware of.

This journey of awareness mirrors our life choices: before we can chase something—be it a product, a dream, or self-growth—we must first know it exists.

Awareness is the bedrock of aspiration.

Just as you can’t desire a solution without knowing about it, you can’t strive for higher achievement without recognizing where you currently stand.

Which leads us to the next thing you need to know about that you may not yet be aware of:

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, and more specifically:

Self-Actualization.

Understanding Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs

“Most people think they lack motivation, when what they really lack is clarity.”

-James Clear, Author of Atomic Habits

Most people think they know what they want.

But I actually believe most people have no idea what they really want.

They only think they know what they want, based on the feelings they get when they see other people living a life that looks happy and fulfilled.

But what makes someone else happy and fulfilled is, most likely, completely different from what makes you happy and fulfilled.

Enter Self-Actualization.

Self-actualization is a term that was first introduced by the psychologist Abraham Maslow in the 1950s.

Maslow described self-actualization as “the desire to become more and more what one is, to become everything that one is capable of becoming.”

This is often interpreted as an individual living authentically, pursuing their passions, and represents the ultimate form of personal growth.

It is often described as the full realization and fulfillment of one’s own potential.

Self-actualization is the top level of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, a theory that organizes human needs from the most basic physical needs to the most complex psychological needs.

Maslow suggested that only a small percentage of people ever truly reach a state of self-actualization.

To break it down in simple terms:

Maslow had this idea that we’re all on a journey.

Imagine climbing a mountain, what awaits you at the peak?

According to Maslow, the peak is where Self-actualization lives.

But before reaching this peak, you’ve got to make a few pit stops to collect life’s other essential needs first:

  • Physiological Necessities (survival needs like food, water, and shelter)
  • Safety & Security
  • Love & Belonging
  • Esteem

Kinda makes sense, right?

You’re not thinking about writing your next bestseller, or working on building your multi-million dollar business, if you’re starving.

You’re thinking about where and how you’re going to get your next meal.

So in short, Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is a pyramid showcasing human needs, starting with basics like food and shelter at the bottom (meaning the most important for survival), and culminating in self-actualization at the top (meaning the luxuries of life once all other needs have been met).

The cool part is there’s a modern-day twist to it all that aligns perfectly with your goals of living the perfect life.

The Core 4 Motivators of Humanity

Now, because of my military experience and extensive travel over the years, I’ve had the privilege of meeting people from all walks of life—from the beaches of Bali to the skyscrapers of New York.

Something very interesting you learn as you meet people from across the world: everyone is seeking the same things.

The Core 4 Motivators of Humanity

No matter who you are…

No matter where you’re from…

No matter what you THINK you want…

Every human pursuit on the planet falls into 1 of 4 categories of desire:

  1. Health
  2. Wealth
  3. Love
  4. Happiness

I call these our core motivators, or “The Core 4.”

Irrespective of cultural and geographical boundaries, these core 4 motivators form the cornerstone of all human aspirations.

It’s almost like our DNA is hardwired to crave these.

It’s the same stuff Maslow was talking about, just with a 21st-century spin.

The 3 Pivotal Pillars of Power

The 3 Pivotal Pillars of Power

Now that you know the core 4 motivators that drive your dreams and desires, we can explore even further.

Diving deeper, we encounter what I call The 3 Pivotal Pillars of Power (The P-3): Mindset, Business, and Fitness.

Pillar of Power #1: Mindset

Anyone who knows me or has ever ingested even a small amount of my content knows my love, respect, and admiration for Gary Vaynerchuk.

If you’ve ever heard any of Gary’s passionate rants on mindset, you’d probably agree – the guy’s on point.

Mindset is the foundation of everything.

It’s the engine that powers your dreams.

It’s the canvas on which your dreams, hopes, and aspirations are painted.

How a Growth Mindset Satisfies ALL of the Core 4 Motivators

The pursuit of a resilient and positive mindset is intrinsically linked to all 4 of the core human motivators.

A transformative mindset isn’t just about positive thinking; it’s the catalyst that brings forth changes across every aspect of our lives.

The Mindset Pillar of Power to Unlock Your Perfect Life

1. Health – Mental and Physical Wellness:

Dr. Joe Dispenza, a pioneering figure in the realm of neuroscience, has dedicated years studying the profound effects our thoughts have on our well-being.

His research indicates that our thoughts, emotions, and beliefs can directly influence our physical health.

By cultivating a growth mindset, individuals can create a healthier mental environment.

This shift not only aids in stress reduction and improved mental well-being but also has tangible effects on physical health.

A positive mindset boosts immunity, enhances sleep quality, and even aids in faster recovery from illnesses.

2. Wealth – Unlocking Potential in the Digital Age:

When we consider wealth, it’s more than just monetary value. It’s about the richness of opportunities and experiences.

A refined mindset equips us with the mental fortitude to believe in our potential, ensuring that we’re always in a state of growth and improvement.

In the age of digital transformation, this belief system becomes even more crucial.

With the right mindset, one can harness the power of the digital world, learning new skills and leveraging them to earn from their passions.

Such endeavors not only provide financial stability but also infuse a sense of purpose and fulfillment, key components of true wealth.

3. Love – The Ripple Effect of Self-awareness and Confidence:

Our relationship with ourselves sets the tone for our interactions with those around us.

A strengthened mindset focuses on self-improvement, nurturing our self-confidence, self-awareness, and self-esteem.

As we start to perceive ourselves in a better light, our self-love deepens.

This love radiates outwards, influencing our interactions and relationships.

When we’re at peace with ourselves, we become better listeners, empathetic partners, and compassionate friends.

Our relationships thrive in this nurturing environment, leading to more profound connections and an abundance of love.

4. Happiness – Passion Projects and Financial Stability:

The pursuit of happiness often intertwines with our professional endeavors and financial stability.

By honing our mindset, we empower ourselves to undertake passion projects.

These ventures, driven by genuine interest and enthusiasm, are deeply satisfying and often become sources of joy.

Furthermore, when we use our passions to navigate the digital realm, the resulting financial stability further amplifies our happiness.

An improved mindset ensures that we don’t just chase monetary gains but seek out endeavors that bring both joy and financial rewards.

Cultivating a growth mindset—believing that abilities and intelligence can be developed through dedication and hard work—creates a love of learning and a resilience essential for achieving any endeavor.

Such a mindset allows you to interpret challenges as opportunities, setbacks as feedback, and effort as a pathway to mastery.

This mental fortitude directly correlates with increased contentment, optimism, and overall well-being.

As we nurture our mindset, we lay the foundation for a happier, more fulfilled life, where challenges are embraced, and personal growth is prioritized.

This improves our self-confidence and self-love, which in turn allows us to build and maintain better relationships with those around us.

In essence, mindset is the cornerstone upon which the pillars of health, wealth, love, and happiness stand. By dedicating time and effort to personal development and mindset cultivation, we can unlock the doors to our most desired life.

Pillar of Power #2: Business

The Business Pillar of Power

The digital age has changed the game.

It has revolutionized traditional paradigms.

Forget the 9-5.

With the right passion and honed digital skills, establishing a successful online venture is no longer a distant dream but a tangible reality.

Today, you, sitting in your pajamas, can build a digital empire without ever even leaving your couch.

And the best part?

You can mesh your passion with profit.

Find your passion, master some digital skills, and voilà, welcome to your very own online kingdom.

How Online Business Satisfies ALL of the Core 4 Motivators

Harnessing the power of digital skills and practicing the concept of ‘skill stacking’ also addresses all four of the intrinsic core human motivators.

The realm of online business, particularly as a solopreneur, holds vast potentials that ripple across the multifaceted domains of our lives.

1. Health – Balance and Autonomy:

One of the primary advantages of running an online business as a one-person powerhouse is the freedom it offers.

No longer chained to traditional 9-5 constraints, solopreneurs have the flexibility to prioritize their well-being.

This autonomy allows for a balanced routine, integrating regular exercise, meditation, or even just the luxury of a well-timed break.

Moreover, the reduction in commute-related stressors and the ability to curate a personalized work environment can have significant positive implications for mental health.

2. Wealth – The Infinite Growth Curve:

In the world of online business, the sky’s the limit.

The more you invest in expanding your digital skill set, the broader your horizons become.

By continuously adding to your repertoire (think SEO today, digital design tomorrow), you open up multiple revenue streams.

Skill stacking ensures you’re not putting all your eggs in one basket.

Instead, you’re diversifying and thus increasing resilience and profitability.

An online business, free from the limitations of brick and mortar, can tap into global markets, ensuring consistent financial growth.

3. Love – Building Authentic Connections:

The digital landscape is vast, but it’s also a space buzzing with communities.

As you navigate the online business world, you’ll find tribes aligned with your niche.

These communities foster genuine relationships. Collaborations, networking events, or even a simple exchange in a forum can lead to deep, meaningful connections.

Furthermore, the self-assuredness that comes from running a successful online business bolsters self-love.

A confident, thriving entrepreneur naturally attracts positive relationships both in business and personal realms.

4. Happiness – The Joy of Mastery and Purpose:

There’s undeniable joy in mastery.

As you stack skills and watch your online business flourish, the sense of achievement is profound.

Every milestone reached, every skill mastered, adds to the repository of happiness.

Moreover, an online business often stems from a personal passion or a perceived gap in the market.

This alignment with personal values and interests means that work no longer feels like a chore; it’s a purpose-driven journey.

As the old adage goes, “Choose a job you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.”

In a world where financial stability often equates to security, diving into online business can provide not just monetary gain but also a sense of accomplishment and purpose.

Successful business endeavors offer more than just material wealth; they also grant individuals the autonomy to make choices, the freedom to invest in experiences or resources they value, and the capacity to provide for loved ones.

Beyond the tangible benefits, establishing a thriving business can foster feelings of pride, achievement, and self-worth, proving that the pursuit of wealth isn’t just about money—it’s about crafting a life of choice, freedom, and empowerment.

In conclusion, online business, when approached with a strategy of skill stacking, is not just a pursuit of financial gain. It’s a holistic journey that touches upon health, wealth, love, and happiness. For the solopreneur, this journey, with all its challenges and rewards, is the path to a fulfilled, balanced life.

Pillar of Power #3: Fitness

When we think of fitness, images of well-sculpted bodies and intense workout routines often spring to mind.

The Fitness Pillar of Power

But true, holistic fitness transcends mere physicality.

It’s an intricate tapestry woven from physical, mental, and spiritual threads, each contributing significantly to our overall well-being and alignment with all our core motivators.

Fitness is all-encompassing.

It’s a balance between mental fitness, spiritual fitness, and physical fitness.

It’s yoga on a Monday, meditation on a Wednesday, and maybe some kickboxing on a Friday.

It’s about trying new things, exploring different avenues, and finding what you enjoy (and what you don’t).

There is no one right way.

Different things work differently for different people.

The important thing is to find what works for you, your desires, and your lifestyle.

How Holistic Fitness Satisfies ALL of the Core 4 Motivators

The journey of holistic fitness can be equated to peeling layers, each phase bringing you closer to the core of your existence.

As you weave through physical challenges, wade through mental mazes, and soar in spiritual realms, there’s an alignment with health, wealth, love, and happiness.

In embracing holistic fitness, you’re not just sculpting a better physique, but also carving a path to a richer, fuller life.

1. Health – The Triple Pillar Benefit:

Holistic fitness creates a domino effect.

Physically, regular exercise releases endorphins, nature’s mood lifters, while also enhancing immunity and energy.

Mentally, challenges faced during workouts or meditative practices sharpen cognitive abilities and increase resilience.

Spiritually, as one delves deeper into practices like yoga or Tai Chi, there’s an alignment of inner energies, leading to enhanced vitality and balance.

Such practices are often doorways to deeper self-awareness, reducing stress and fostering tranquility.

2. Wealth – Transference of Discipline:

The dedication, persistence, and discipline honed through a holistic fitness journey are transferable skills.

In the world of business or personal projects, these traits are invaluable.

The mental clarity from meditation or the perseverance built in rigorous physical training equips one to tackle professional challenges with renewed vigor.

Moreover, a fit individual exudes confidence, a trait that often correlates with career advancements and financial prosperity.

3. Love – Amplified Connections and Self-Worth:

Holistic fitness nurtures self-love.

As you invest time in your well-being, there’s a blossoming of self-worth.

You become more attuned to your needs, desires, and boundaries.

This inner alignment paves the way for healthier relationships with others.

Additionally, spiritual insights often emphasize interconnectedness and universal love.

With this expanded consciousness, one approaches relationships with greater empathy and understanding.

Furthermore, group activities, like group meditations or fitness classes, foster a sense of community, leading to authentic connections.

4. Happiness – Endorphins and Enlightenment:

Physical exercises trigger the release of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers that also trigger a positive feeling.

But beyond this biochemical response, there’s a profound sense of fulfillment as one embarks on the path of mental and spiritual growth.

Discovering philosophical truths or experiencing moments of spiritual epiphany leads to an intrinsic joy, a happiness that’s not tied to materialistic achievements but anchored in enlightenment and self-realization.

A strong, healthy body acts as a vessel, allowing us to experience life to its fullest, be it through physical activities, travels, or simply enjoying daily routines without health hindrances.

Moreover, fitness (both mental and physical) often leads to improved self-image and confidence, making it not just a gateway to better health, but also to enhanced happiness and self-love.

By committing to fitness, we’re not just strengthening our muscles but fortifying our entire well-being – mind, body, and spirit – ensuring we’re fit for life’s adventures and challenges.

The Only REAL Human Desire

Earlier in this article I said:

“Most people think they know what they want.

But I actually believe that most people have no idea what they really want.”

Whether it’s a million dollars in the bank, a bodybuilder physique, or the perfect partner – people often have a misconception of what they truly want.

While we may think we’re in this wild chase for health, wealth, or love – At the heart of ALL these pursuits lies the true essence of our journey:

Happiness.

Your Perfect Life is Nothing More than Being Happy

Unfortunately, what most people fail to realize is that when you equate your happiness to a specific end goal or outcome, you’ll never truly be satisfied.

Happiness is an internal game, not an external endpoint.

However, the good news is that by focusing all of your efforts on building and expanding your 3 pillars of power: mindset, business, and fitness; you inevitably achieve happiness simultaneously.

The synthesis of health, wealth, and love is what invariably translates to genuine contentment and joy.

Meeting these foundational needs tends to organically usher in a state of happiness, solidifying Maslow’s assertion of interconnected human needs.

The shift in mindset, mindfulness, and perspective that naturally occurs will drastically change your life for the better in every possible way.

Nail these three, and you’ve got yourself the golden ticket.

Think about it:

Have you ever seen a healthy, loved, and financially-stable person who’s unhappy?

Probably not.

So, now that you know the 3 pillars of power responsible for the pursuit of happiness, how do you unlock access to them?

This is where the two keys, and the final portion of this article, come into play.

The Two Keys REQUIRED to Unlock Your PERFECT Life

Here’s the big revelation:

The 2 Keys That Will Unlock Your Perfect Life

Maslow’s age-old theory finds its 21st-century mates in two spheres of influence:

  1. Personal Development
  2. Online Entrepreneurship

Merging ancient wisdom with modern paradigms, we can distill our path to self-fulfillment into these two guiding stars.

The incessant journey of personal development equips us with the tools to navigate life’s complexities, while the dynamic world of online entrepreneurship provides the platform to manifest our passions and talents, leading us closer to Maslow’s coveted self-actualization.

The process is simple:

Work on yourself.

Grow, learn, evolve.

And then?

Channel that growth into an online business you love.

The best part?

It’s all interconnected.

By making self-actualization your ultimate goal, you will naturally fulfill all the other underlying requirements on your way up.

Obstacles, Challenges, and Actionable Steps to Overcome Them

Don’t get me wrong, the road to self-actualization is peppered with challenges.

There are several potential obstacles you will inevitably face.

Some of the most common obstacles and challenges include:

Challenges and Obstacles of Achieving Self-Actualization
  • Unmet Lower-Level Needs: According to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, before a person can reach self-actualization, they need to satisfy their physiological, safety, love and belonging, and esteem needs. If these foundational needs are not met adequately, it can be difficult for a person to pursue self-actualization. For example, if someone struggles with financial insecurity (a safety need), they may not be able to focus on personal growth.

  • Fear and Anxiety: Fear of failure, fear of success, fear of the unknown, or fear of rejection can prevent individuals from taking necessary risks or stepping outside of their comfort zones, which are often required for self-actualization. Anxiety can also result in self-doubt, undermining confidence and motivation.

  • Lack of Self-Awareness: Self-actualization requires a deep understanding of oneself, including one’s values, desires, strengths, and weaknesses. A lack of self-awareness can prevent someone from understanding what they truly want or need to become fully actualized.

  • Societal Pressures and Expectations: Societal and cultural expectations can often conflict with an individual’s true desires and self-identity. If someone feels pressured to conform to societal norms, they may suppress their authentic self, preventing self-actualization.

  • Negative Self-Image: Low self-esteem or a negative self-image can hinder someone from believing they are capable of achieving their full potential. If someone continually believes they’re not good enough, they might not pursue their true passions or talents.

  • Lack of Autonomy: Dependence on others for validation or decision-making can prevent a person from developing autonomy, a key characteristic of self-actualized individuals.

  • Lack of Resilience: Setbacks and failure are often part of the journey toward self-actualization. Individuals who lack resilience may be discouraged by these challenges and give up before they reach their potential.

  • Overemphasis on Material Success: In many societies, material wealth and outward signs of success are highly valued. An overemphasis on these can distract from internal growth and the pursuit of meaningful life goals.

But have no fear!

While these challenges are formidable, they aren’t indestructible.

Adopting strategies like therapy, meditation, or self-reflection help pave the way for overcoming these hurdles.

Here are five methods you can use to get started overcoming these obstacles today:

1. Building Self-Awareness:

  • Regularly engage in self-reflection. This could be through journaling or taking quiet moments during the day to assess your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.
  • Seek feedback from others. Others can often see aspects of ourselves that we’re blind to. Be open to constructive criticism.
  • Try free personality or psychological tests such as the Myers-Briggs test to understand different aspects of your personality and behaviors.
  • Be mindful of your feelings and reactions. Mindfulness can help you stay connected with the present moment and better understand your emotional responses. (This is where journaling can be really helpful)

2. Overcoming Fear and Anxiety:

  • Identify your fears. Make a list of what you fear and try to understand why those fears exist.
  • Practice mindfulness and relaxation techniques such as meditation, deep-breathing exercises, or yoga to manage fear-induced stress.
  • Gradually expose yourself to your fears. Start small and slowly work your way up.
  • Seek professional help if fear and anxiety are overwhelming. Therapists can provide you with tools and strategies to cope.

3. Developing Autonomy:

Developing Autonomy in Your Life
  • Set personal goals that align with your values, not what others expect from you.
  • Regularly make decisions on your own. Start with smaller decisions and gradually move to larger ones.
  • Learn to tolerate discomfort. It’s normal to feel uncomfortable or uncertain when doing things independently. Accept it as part of the process.
  • Seek feedback, but make the final decision yourself. It’s okay to ask for advice, but remember the final choice is yours.

4. Improving Self-Esteem:

  • Practice self-love and self-care. Do activities that you enjoy and that make you feel good.
  • Challenge negative self-talk. When you notice yourself engaging in negative self-talk, challenge these thoughts and replace them with positive ones.
  • Set and achieve small goals. The sense of achievement can boost your confidence and belief in yourself.
  • Surround yourself with positive, supportive people. The people you spend time with can greatly influence your self-esteem.

5. Building Resilience:

  • Develop a positive outlook. Try to see challenges as opportunities for growth rather than threats.
  • Build strong, supportive relationships. These can provide emotional support during tough times.
  • Embrace change as a natural part of life. Accept that change happens and adapt accordingly.
  • Practice good self-care. Regular exercise, a healthy diet, and sufficient sleep can increase your physical ability to endure stress.

The key is to identify which skills are most crucial to your business model and focus on those initially.

It’s important to keep in mind that self-actualization is a journey, not a destination.
